Eton End Prep is a Co-educational Independent Preparatory Day School
for children from 2-11 years old. They pride themselves on preparing children for tomorrow and offering an education that celebrates childhood!
They reached out to us after seeing our work on LinkedIn and asked us to transform all of their classrooms! At the time they had a mixture of standard classroom tables and old lift up wooden desks! The school building is an old and beautiful one but had some tiny rooms!
The challenge was to create stunning classrooms for smaller classes in both their big and tiny spaces! Shahana got to work and her and the family drove to Eton in the holidays to meet the team and transform the rooms together!
Eton end really champignon childhood, and nurture alongside their commitment to the children's education, and so it was important for us to ensure these spaces were calming and welcoming. Due to the small class sizes, there was the opportunity to add floor seating in some classrooms for group tasks, 121 input and regulation time.

Make over photos
The make over day was very special, we all got together as we filmed their transformation for our YouTube channel. We were also able to sit down with the Headteacher at the time, Rachael Cox to talk about her vision for the school, their commitment to childhood and play and hear all about what else they were doing in school.

Watch our round table discussion
After making over their spaces, we sat down months later to discuss:
-Why therapeutic classrooms are so important
-The impact the classrooms were having on the children
-Letting children work from the sofa
-Classroom displays
-How the word 'trauma' is relevant in all types of schools (even prep schools)
-The impact of the environments on the staff and their wellbeing.
