This standard provides guidelines for the sizing of tables and chairs used in educational settings, ensuring that they are appropriate for the age and physical stature of students.
Each size mark corresponds to a specific seat height and approximate child height range. The size mark on the chairs is then paired with the size mark on the tables to ensure they are the right size for each year group.
Size mark 3 chairs pair with size mark 3 tables
Size mark 4 chairs pair with size mark 4 tables
Size mark 5 chairs pair with size mark 5 tables
Size mark 6 chairs pair with size mark 6 tables
Note: Both size mark 4 and 5 can be used for year 6. We would recommend size mark 6 for those with taller children

The Breakout Chair
This soft, Breakout Chair is perfect for dining rooms, staff rooms and breakout spaces. We often use this in settings with young people from 14 onwards as it is a comfortable, upholstered option to hard seating, which is wipeable, durable and made for heavy-traffic use.
Please note: these chairs pair with size mark 6 tables
Care instructions:
Dust with a dry, lint free cloth and vacuum sing a nozzle attachment. Spot clean stains with a soft, warm cloth that is damp not wet. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based sprays, or bleach wipes as they can damage any coated fabric.
Check that chair legs and frames remain stable on uneven floors periodically.
